Residents, councillors and volunteers from Peterborough Litter Wombles came together in Westwood for another community litter pick, helping to clear a large amount of rubbish from local streets and green spaces.
The clean-up covered Clipston Walk, Chelveston Way, Horton Walk, Gresley Way, Bretton Gate and Cranford Drive, as well as the woods near Hartwell Court.
The team also identified areas of fly-tipping and reported them to the relevant authorities so they can be dealt with.
Councillor Raja Sabeel Ahmed joined the community effort and thanked everyone who gave up their time to help.
“It was fantastic to see so many people coming together again to help keep Westwood clean and tidy. A huge amount of rubbish was collected, and I’d like to thank everyone who got involved and gave their time to make a difference in our community.”
The litter pick is another example of residents and local volunteers working together to take pride in their neighbourhood and make a positive difference to the area.
