Paul Bristow celebrating win with members and Kemi Badenoch MP

We are delighted to announce that Paul Bristow has been elected as the new Mayor of the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority – and what an incredible result it was! Paul won every single ward in the city of Peterborough, a clear sign that local people believe in his positive vision and strong leadership for our region.

This is a huge moment for Peterborough. For the first time, we have a Mayor from our city who will lead the Combined Authority – and he does so with an overwhelming mandate from local residents. This win is thanks to you, the people of Peterborough, who turned out and voted for change, ambition, and a brighter future for our area.

Powered by People and Passion

This victory was powered by an incredible grassroots campaign, and we want to give a heartfelt thank you to every single volunteer who gave their time, energy, and enthusiasm. Whether you were out delivering leaflets, speaking with residents, or supporting behind the scenes – this win belongs to you as much as it does to Paul. You made it happen.

What This Means for Peterborough

With Paul at the helm of the Combined Authority, Peterborough now has a real voice at the regional table – one that understands our city, our needs and our potential. Paul has made it clear that he will be a Mayor for the whole region, but he will never stop fighting for Peterborough.

His priorities are clear:

  • Boosting investment and jobs across the city and wider region
  • Delivering better transport links, including improvements to buses and road networks
  • Championing regeneration and unlocking the full potential of Peterborough and Cambridgeshire’s communities

A Mayor Who Listens and Leads

Paul Bristow brings both national experience and local heart to the role. He knows that the best ideas often come from the ground up – from residents, businesses, and community groups. That’s why he’ll be a Mayor who listens, includes, and acts.

This isn’t just a win for one candidate or one party – it’s a win for all of us who care about the future of Peterborough and Cambridgeshire. We now have a Mayor who will bring energy, focus, and ambition to the job.
