Park Ward Conservative Councillors Meet Residents and the Highways Team to Tackle Road Safety Concerns

Park Ward Conservative Councillors Arfan Khan and Murtaza Ahmed-Munir have been working with local residents and Peterborough City Council's Highways Team to address ongoing concerns about speeding and inconsiderate parking on Dogsthorpe Road.

The councillors met with residents on site, alongside Highways officers, to hear first-hand about the issues affecting the area and to discuss what practical measures could be explored to improve road safety.

During the meeting, residents shared their experiences and explained the impact that speeding traffic and inconsiderate parking are having on their daily lives, raising concerns about safety for motorists, pedestrians and families using the road.

The meeting provided an opportunity for councillors, residents and council officers to assess the situation together, consider the options available and discuss the next steps towards finding practical solutions.

Following the meeting, Cllrs Khan and Munir said:

"It was good to meet with local residents, alongside the Council's Highways Team, to discuss ongoing concerns about speeding and inconsiderate parking on Dogsthorpe Road.

"Residents shared their experiences and highlighted the impact these issues are having on road safety and daily life. It was a constructive meeting, with the opportunity to look at the options available and discuss the next steps to help address these concerns.

"Thank you to everyone who came along and took the time to share their views. Your local knowledge is invaluable, and we will continue working with residents and Council officers to push for practical solutions that make our neighbourhood safer for everyone."

The councillors will continue working with the Council's Highways Team to progress the issues raised and keep residents updated as discussions continue.

If you are experiencing concerns about speeding or parking in your area, please get in touch with your local Conservative councillors, who are always happy to listen and help raise issues on behalf of residents.
