North Ward Councillors Asim Mahmood and Javed Akhtar visited Fulbridge Academy to discuss concerns around school drop-off and look at practical ways to improve the situation for pupils, parents and local residents.
The councillors were joined by Peterborough City Council’s Director for Highways to discuss the issues and explore possible solutions around the school.
Councillor Asim Mahmood has also served as a Governor at Fulbridge Academy for the past three years and has seen first-hand the important role the school plays within the North Ward community.
With schools continuing to face increasing pressures, including growing demand for SEND support, the councillors said they will continue working with Fulbridge Academy and the council to support the school, its pupils and families.
Councillor Asim Mahmood said:
“Fulbridge is an important part of our North Ward community and it was good to visit the school and discuss the concerns around drop-off. We want to work with the school and the council to find practical solutions that work for pupils, parents and local residents.”
