Residents in North Ward have been left facing serious concerns after heavy rainfall caused significant flooding on St Paul’s Road and Woodcote Close.
Cllr Javed Akhtar and Cllr Asim Mahmood were out in the area as the rain continued, seeing first-hand the extent of the flooding and the potential risk it posed to local homes.
With water levels continuing to rise, there were real concerns that floodwater could reach residents’ properties if the situation worsened.
The issue has now been reported for urgent action, with the councillors calling for the situation to be addressed as quickly as possible.
Cllr Akhtar and Cllr Asim will continue to monitor the situation and press for action to protect residents and their properties.
When residents are worried about what is happening on their own doorstep, they deserve to know that their local councillors are listening, acting and standing up for them.
