In response to a series of high-speed accidents, new traffic calming measures are being introduced on Elmfield Road to improve safety and prevent further collisions.
Following a detailed assessment by PCC Highways contractor, Milestone, it has been agreed in partnership with Park and Dogsthorpe Ward councillors to install speed cushions on both approaches to the bend. These measures are designed to slow down traffic, enhancing safety for everyone who uses the road.
In a joint statement issued by councillors, they are delighted that the scheme is going ahead thanks to cooperation between the councillors and in agreement with residents in both wards.
“This is a perfect example of cross-party working and co-operation between councillors of different political persuasions in Park and Dogsthorpe to address an issue that has caused a great deal of anxiety among those residents affected by reckless driving on Elmfield Road”.
Stay tuned for updates as we continue to work toward making Elmfield Road safer for all!
