Families in Eye will be pleased to hear that the school crossing patrol on Eyebury Road is being reinstated for the new school year.
After strong campaigning from local councillors and overwhelming community support, the City Council has confirmed that the service will return. This means pupils, parents and grandparents can look forward to a safer journey to and from school.
We’d like to say a special thank you to Lisa, the dedicated lollipop lady, for agreeing to return, and to everyone who signed the petition and made their voices heard. Your efforts were vital in persuading the Council to think again.
This is a real community win. Proof of what can be achieved when residents, councillors and council officers all work together for the good of Eye.
