Paston and Walton Councillor Alex Rafiq and former MP Paul Bristow, are working hard to support residents and business owners in Paston who have been wrongly issued parking fines at the Chadburn Centre.
Many visitors have received unjustified charges after parking for short periods, with some businesses noticing a drop in foot traffic as a result. Cllr Rafiq has been inundated with complaints, including cases where people have been billed for overstays as short as 10 minutes, and even had delivery drivers fined.
Paul Bristow, who has joined Cllr Rafiq in engaging with local business owners, expressed his concerns over the faulty parking system and the impact on the community. Both are calling for urgent action to address the malfunctioning cameras and for better communication with the parking company to resolve the issue and prevent further fines.
The pair’s commitment to supporting local businesses and ensuring residents aren’t unfairly penalised highlights their ongoing dedication to improving our community. We thank all those who have brought this matter to attention and will continue to work towards a fair and transparent resolution.
