It was a fantastic day in Eye as residents came together to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Manor Farm Community Centre.

Councillor Steve Allen joined the Mayor of Peterborough, fellow ward councillors, members of the management committee and local residents for the special celebration.

There was plenty to enjoy throughout the day, including a fascinating talk sharing Memories of Eye, a collection of back copies of Eye Scan and a lantern-making workshop.

The celebrations were rounded off with the lighting of a special 40th anniversary beacon.

Manor Farm Community Centre has played an important role in village life for four decades, providing a place for residents to meet, take part in activities and come together as a community.

Councillor Steve Allen said:

“It was really enjoyable to join residents and everyone involved with the centre to celebrate 40 years of Manor Farm Community Centre. It really is the backbone of the village and it was wonderful to see it so well supported. Here’s to the next chapter for this fantastic community hub.”

A huge congratulations to everyone who has helped make Manor Farm Community Centre such an important part of village life over the past 40 years.
