Stewart and Sarah serve up lunch on Christmas Day at Salvation Army

City MP Stewart Jackson and his wife Sarah were to be found at the Salvation Army Citadel on Bourges Boulevard this Chistmas Day. The two were there to help prepare and serve up food to scores of hungry mouths.

Stewart visits John Mansfield School to hand out prizes in his Christmas card competition

The Member of Parliament was at John Mansfield School recently to hand out prizes to both the winner and runner-up in his Christmas card competition (Secondary section).

The lucky pupils were as follows:

Winner: Natasha Adams (12)
Runner-up: Sharney Goodhard (14)

Stewart visits Paston Ridings Primary School to hand our the winner prize for his Christmas card competition

Stewart was at Paston Ridings Primary School for the second time in a month recently; this time to give Hannah Temple the winner's prize in his Christmas Card competition.

Hannah (whose entry can be seen in the picture opposite) was overjoyed when she was awarded the first prize of a tour of the Palace of Westminster, a trip up Big Ben and lunch for 3 at the famous Strangers restaurant.

Stewart in the stocks - MP GETS A SOAKING FOR CHILDREN IN NEED

Stewart proved to be a good sport recently when he was subjected to a hour in the stocks at HG's Pub in Queens Street.

Wet sponges were thrown at him by members of the public for a pound a go, on a day that was less than warm.

Stewart opens the refurbished Deafblind facility on Paston Ridings

Stewart spent over an hour talking to staff and residents at the newly refurbished Deafblind centre on Paston Ridings.

The centre, which has had new flooring installed, was recently given a grant by the DIY company B&Q.

Stewart recently visited the Sikh Temple in Royce Road and spent more that an hour talking to local Sikhs about issue pertaining to their community and the city as a whole.

Stewart attends Tesco 'Computers for Schools' prize-giving ceremony

Stewart was delighted to attend the handing out of computer equipment to local school children under the Tesco 'Computers for Schools' scheme.

Stewart spent 30 minutes chatting to staff before the ceremony which saw Kings, St Thomas More and Gunthorpe schools receive equipment.

Stewart joins Longthorpe Primary pupils for spot of planting

Stewart was testing out his green fingers as he helped Longthorpe Primary pupils with the planting of 1000 bulbs.

Stewart commented:

"It's great that the children take such an interest in this sort of outdoor activity. It bodes well for the state of their gardens when they grow up!''

Stewart formally starts building work at Thomas Deacon Academy

Stewart was delighted to be formally starting building work on the 2200 pupil Thomas Deacon Academy.

On breaking the turf, Stewart commented:

"It is very humbling to be invited to be the guest at this exciting ceremony. The Academy will massively improve the secondary education provision in the city and I for one can't wait for it to open.''


Stewart opening the Ecotrade Recyling Centre in Dogsthorpe

Stewart spent nearly an hour talking to managers and staff at the new Ecotrade Recycling Centre on Welland Road after opening the site to the businesses.

After the ceremony, Stewart commented:

"I had no hesitation in accepting the invitation to come here. Recycling is highly important and this centre is certainly a step forward.''

Stewart supports Council's @ctive card scheme

Stewart attended Peterborough City Council's @ctive Sports Card stall in Cathedral Square.

He spend time with PCC employees chatting about the importance of staying fit and healthy.

Stewart also tried out the excercise bikes (see picture) witha couple of furry friends.

Stewart met Rev. Richard Paten of Railworld to discuss issues pertaining to the business and future development.

He spend more than an hour touring the site, looking at various exhibitions.

MP visits Safety Camera Partnership

On Friday 19th August Stewart Jackson MP visited the Headquarters of the Cambridgeshire Safety Camera Partnership in Godmanchester near Huntingdon.

Mr Jackson spent and hour discussing the work done at the offices with both senior police representatives and admin support staff.

The Member of Parliament was impressed with the professionalism of the staff and their attention to detail.


Stewart visits New Link - Lincoln Road

On Friday 19th August Stewart Jackson MP visited the New Link Centre in Lincoln Road.

Mr Jackson spent over an hour discussing immigration issues with centre leaders and support staff.
